What temperature for pour-over coffee?
Coffee brewing temperature is a recipe choice, not a single magic number.
Start with your coffee recipe
Many pour-over recipes start around 90–96°C (194–205°F). This is general brewing guidance, not a statement of the BrewNeck kettle’s temperature-control range. Follow your coffee roaster’s recipe and use the presets shown on your device.
Adjust for the roast
Lighter roasts often benefit from hotter water, while darker roasts may taste better a little cooler. Altitude changes the boiling point. Keep dose, water, and pouring technique consistent before changing temperature.
Taste, then change one thing
A sharp or thin cup may benefit from a hotter brew, while a harsh cup may benefit from cooler water. These are clues rather than diagnoses: coffee preparation and water chemistry matter too. Record your recipe and taste again.
Use presets thoughtfully
A digital display and presets make it easier to revisit a brewing routine. Select from the device UI; do not assume an unsupported numeric range. Read how to use a gooseneck kettle before your first pour.
Dial numbers are relative starting points. Keep a record of your beans, dose, setting, and taste to make the next adjustment easier.
